First Grade Visits - 2016

In October, we had first grade visits from classes at Reagan Elementary! The kids were given a tour of the newly renovated library by Miss Brenda, participated in Storytime with Miss Hayley, and did a fun craft (making bookworms,) then sang songs with Miss Natalie!

First grade visits are traditionally done every year to expose area youth to the possibilities that libraries contain. Many children are already familiar with the Bookmobile, as it visits area schools on a regular schedule, so it's important to also introduce the brick and mortar structure of libraries as an inviting and fun space to visit. The goal is to cement the idea firmly in young minds that libraries are places to connect to ideas, information, and inspiration!

Here are some thank you letters we received from the kids! Libraries do make a difference in children's lives!

More and more thank yous from our first grade visitors, some of whom also got to go on our Fall Storywalk®.
