Pay It Forward Donation

Ashland, OH, September 8, 2016–  Back at the end of July, the Ashland Public Library had a program for area youth to craft dog and cat toys out of recyclable materials to donate to local shelters. The kids had a great time and made about 50 chew and play toys. The kitty toys were donated in mid-August to The Cat House Feline Sanctuary, and Laura Bailey has reported that “the cats and kittens went wild playing with them!”

Youth Services Coordinator Hayley Tracy-Bursley is shown donating the doggie toys to Arlene Beasley of the Ashland County Dog Shelter the afternoon of Wednesday, September 7. The shelter was also thrilled with the donation, and it was expressed that the dogs especially love the chew toys made of the sock-covered plastic beverage bottles.

Both shelter organizations are always in need of material and monetary donations. Contact information for the Ashland County Dog Shelter can be found at https://www.ashlandcounty.org/dogshelter/.  Visit http://www.thecathousefelinesanctuary.org/ for The Cat House Feline Sanctuary information.
