Ashland Public Library - Bookmobile and Outreach Services

About the Bookmobile
Bookmobile service in Ashland County began out of a car in 1937. The Ashland Public Library is proud to continue to providing bookmobile service to library patrons throughout Ashland County.

Anyone who works, attends school, or owns property in Ashland County or any contiguous surrounding county may apply for a free library card on the Bookmobile. The library card you receive from the Bookmobile may be used at the Main Library and vice versa. Each member should have only one library account (exception: educators may have a personal and an educator account). Accounts will be blocked if cardholders have more than $5.00 in fines and fees. A $1.00 fee will be charged for replacement of lost, damaged or stolen library cards.

The Bookmobile collection includes materials for library patrons of all ages. The collection includes fiction and non-fiction books, magazines, audiobooks on cassette and CD. DVDs are available at the evening and summer community stops.

You may request books and other materials from the Bookmobile staff during a regularly scheduled visit or by phone at least two days in advance of your next Bookmobile visit. Books and other items may be returned to the Bookmobile or the Main Library.

Outreach Services
The Bookmobile provides services to seniors living in nursing facilities and independent senior living complexes.

Deposit collections of large print books and special request items are delivered on the first Friday of each month to Crystal Care Nursing Home.

Lobby Stops are made each month at Belmont Tower, Martin House, and Mill Run. Residents at may apply for a library card and check out materials. 2009: Monday, September 14; Monday, October 12; Friday, November 13; Friday, December 11. 2010: Friday, January 8; Friday, February 12; Monday, March 15; Monday, April 12; Friday, May 14.

(Residents at Brookwood Place may visit the Lobby Stop at Belmont Tower or may request items for delivery, please contact your activities director.)
